Forever | My First Impressions

My true first impressions on the beta launch.

WOW! So as far as 'releases' go, this was typical. Queue's that take half an hour to get in, that's really normal for any sort of big release with World of Warcraft. This will still happen when Forever properly releases on November 4th. Having that amount of people, though, for just a BETA is crazy! Blizzard themselves said it's 'record setting'. This 'launch' was normal and expected and will happen again when the game properly releases in November.

Besides that, how was the actual game? Enthralling. It's still Classic but so much more immersive. The world feels more alive. I started leveling a forsaken rogue and the starting zone was dark and fitting for an 'undead'. After getting to level five I then made my way to Durotar to level with a friend in Sen'jin Village. At that point I was having a lot of frame rate issues, however, relogging fixed it entirely and I was able to max out all my graphics settings while running the game perfectly smooth. It was then that I was really falling back into the world. Killing raptors, tigers, trolls, swimming after crabs in this absolutely stunning water... I was THERE!

I love WoW Roleplay. I've been into it these past two years after my switch to Moonguard on retail. I've met a close group of friends on there and we've all been (other than one because he's stuck working!!!) thoroughly enjoying Forever. When Nov. 4th eventually comes I will be playing on the Roleplay mega-realm with hopes that I'll join a huge community and make even more friends. And, even if I don't, I simply look forward to the cool events we'll get. The world truly feels like you are there and I think that adds to immersing yourself as your character more than another cool armor set could ever do. I really enjoy retail simply for the roleplay and housing and I'll of course play it still. This is just so friggin' cool and pretty. I'm so happy.
